Don’t Forget to File for Your Homestead Exemption

Posted on: 01-5-2012 Posted in: news

Just a quick reminder. If you purchase a home last year, remember to file for your homestead exemption this year. The homestead exemption allows for a portion of your property value to be exempt from taxation and therefore lowers your taxes. Application to file for tax exemptions, including homestead exemptions, are accepted between January 1 and April 30.
